Renovation project

Lönnrotinkatu 18 is a unique and fully modernised loft-style office property in the heart of Helsinki. The building was completed in 1939 and had undergone many alterations over the years. For a long time, it served as the headquarters of a shipping company.

The building was renovated from top to bottom according to PES-Architects’ design. The interior was converted into modern, multi-functional office spaces while retaining the personality of the original functionalist building. The property offers high-class premises for a variety of uses; present tenants include start-ups, publishing companies and IT firms. PES-Architects also designed most of the interiors for the new tenants.

Particular attention was paid to the needs of commuter cyclists. There are both indoor and outdoor bicycle parks with maintenance and washing facilities, as well as changing rooms with showers for the cyclists.

Two new restaurant premises were built on the street level, and the courtyard features a summer terrace seating 50 people.
